Girls on the Run®, a life-changing, experiential learning program, is starting up at FRES for girls in 3rd-5th grade!
Running is a great way to inspire and motivate girls, encourage lifelong health and fitness, and build confidence through accomplishment. During a period of 10 weeks, girls will participate in an after-school program that combines training for a 3.1 mile running event with self-esteem enhancing, uplifting workouts. Designed to allow every girl to recognize her inner strength, the Girls on the Run curriculum inspires girls to define their lives on their own terms. Throughout the season, the girls make new friends, build their confidence and celebrate all that makes them unique. The result—making the seemingly impossible, possible, and teaching girls that they can.
Practices are on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:45-5:00 p.m. at FRES from March 19 until the season-ending 5K on June 3. The cost is $150. Registration is open and spots are still available! Girls interested in joining the program can sign up now!
