Proposed Amendments

Article V!, Section 2: Officers and their election:

Amend by deleting item e. which states that “An officer shall not be eligible to serve more than two (2) consecutive terms in the same office. An officer who has served in an office for more than one half of a full term shall be deemed to have served a full term in such office.

 

Article VIII: Board of Directors

Amend Section 5 to change the number of days notice required for a special meeting from 10 to 5. Also, amend section so that 7 board members constitutes a quorum. The amended section will read:

“Regular meetings of the board of directos shall be held during the year, the time to be fixed by the board at its first meeting of the fiscal year. 7 board of directors members shall constitute a quorum. Special meetings of the board of directors may be called by the president or by a majority of the members of the board, 5 days’ notice having been given.

 

Article IX: Executive Committee

Amend Section 2 to change the number of days notice required for an executive committee meeting from 10 to 5. The amended section will read:

“Meetings of the executive committee shall be held as needed. Meetings shall be called by the president or by a majority of the committee members with 5 days’ notice.

 

Article XI: General Membership Meetings

Amend Section 1 to change the number of days notice required for a general membership meeting from 10 to 5. The amended section will read:

“At least 2 general membership meetings of this local PTA/PTSA shall be held during the school year. Dates of meetings shall be determined by the board of directors and announced at the first general membership meeting of the Fiscal year. 5 days’ notice shall be given of a change of date.

 

Amend Section 2 to change the number of days notice required for a special general membership meeting from 10 to 5. The amended section will read:

“Special general membership meetings of this local PTA/PTSA may be called by the president or by a majority of the board of directors, 5 days notice having been given.
