Dear FRES Families,

My name is Kim Kreh and I’m happy to be returning as your PTA president.  I have two daughters at FRES. Jordan is entering fourth grade and Jenna will be in second. I first became involved with the PTA because I was inspired by the FRES staff and how deeply they care for our children.

My primary goal as PTA president is to support our staff and help our kids by providing fun and academic activities that bring the parents, students, and teachers together.  These activities include after-school programs, school assemblies, and social events such as our Ice Cream Social, Dad’s Club, and our Spring Carnival. In addition, we contribute to classroom supplies and show teacher support through our staff appreciation and Adopt –A-Teacher programs. The PTA also produces a student directory to promote interaction within our school community and a yearbook to capture our wonderful school memories.

In order to provide all of our wonderful PTA programs, we hold several fundraisers throughout the year. We don’t expect you to contribute to all of them but we’re asking you to help us by participating in at least one. Please look for information about our fundraisers and consider making a purchase to support our school.

You can also support FRES by volunteering for our activities and programs. During the second week of school you’ll receive a PTA packet that explains all the ways you can help to make FRES more successful.  Please take a minute to review this packet and return the forms to your child’s teacher. This information and the forms are also available at frespta.org.

One of the major changes for the PTA this year is that we are attempting to communicate electronically to avoid wasted paper and expense. In order to accomplish this, we need you to sign up for HCPSS News to get important school and PTA information.
